Dale Lee Heath, age 79, of Gloucester Point, passed away at home on Monday, June 1, 2026, after a long illness.
Born in Marion, Virginia, to Roy G. and Pearl Heath, Dale graduated from Marion Senior High School and attended Marion College. His plans for continuing education were interrupted by his service in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Dale built a career with the Defense Logistics Agency, from which he retired after many years of dedicated service.
Dale spent countless hours coaching Little League baseball with Gloucester Youth Baseball, as well as other youth sports. He enjoyed traveling and treasured opportunities to reunite with lifelong friends, especially in his hometown of Marion. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in their many activities and accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy “Susie” Heath; his sons, Steven Heath of Newport News, Va., Timothy Heath (Laura) of El Cerrito, Calif., and Todd Heath (Katherine) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; his grandchildren, Meredith, Ryan, Madison, Cooper, Carter, Caroline, Charlotte, Emma, and Ethan; his brother, Mark Heath (Regina) of Marion; his brother-in-law, John Robinson of Johnson City, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Donna Heath Blevins and Teresa Heath Robinson.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Ordinary, Virginia, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception. A burial service will be held in July at Riverside Cemetery in Marion. Details will be announced by Bradley’s Funeral Home.
