Daffodils in bloom

With Gloucester’s Daffodil Festival still more than a week away, the familiar yellow blossoms are all around the area. Above, Rachel Payne, who has been picking daffodils for Charles and Jeannie Ingram for about nine years, gathers buds at the Ingram fields in North on Monday. Mrs. Ingram said that because of the unseasonably warm weather, they are about halfway through this year’s harvest already. Normally, she said, this is about the time they start picking daffodils. At left, Raegan Sibley enjoys the colors of spring as she sits at her home in Cash. Raegan is the 10-month-old daughter of Chris and Bridget Sibley. Photos by Charlie Koenig.
