Daffodil Show to be held this weekend at Ware Academy

Daffodils are popping up all over Gloucester. That means it’s almost time for the 61st annual Daffodil Show, sponsored by the Garden Club of Gloucester.

The show will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, coinciding with the county’s Daffodil Festival. This year’s show is moving to a new location, from its traditional spot at Page Middle School to Ware Academy.

The Daffodil Show is accredited by the American Daffodil Society and is one of the largest daffodil shows on the East Coast, according to a release. Over a thousand daffodils in all shapes, colors and sizes from over a hundred growers will be on display in one room.

The public is encouraged to enter specimens in the judged horticulture division or simply stop by for a close-up view of the daffodils, including a display by Brent and Becky’s Bulbs in Ware Neck.
