Daffodil Festival returns this weekend

The Gloucester Daffodil Festival returns this weekend, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon until 5 p.m. Sunday. This year’s theme is “Let’s Jazz It Up!”

The parade will step off from Main Street Center at 10 o’clock Saturday morning and will travel along Main Street to Botetourt Elementary School. Grand marshals Bruce and Martha Sue Soles will lead this year’s parade.

The Main Street Center parking lot will be closed to the public from 5-10:15 the morning of the parade. A small number of parking spots will be held for customers of the post office, Rite Aid and Dollar General for 15-minute parking only.

Shuttles to the festival are available at Gloucester High School from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $5 per person and the only pets allowed on the shuttles are service animals. The shuttle will also stop at Newington Baptist Church for the Daffodil Show.
