Learn more about historic daffodils at the next meeting of the Gloucester Daffodil Club at 4 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 12 in the Chesapeake Lounge at Brent & Becky’s, Ware Neck.

The club, founded in 2018, is seeking to foster more interest in daffodil culture by offering informative programs as well as a chance for members to learn from each other. A daffodil bulb exchange will be held at the club’s November meeting.

The club’s progress toward the goal to “paint the county yellow” was evidenced by the abundance of blooms throughout the county last spring as members encouraged businesses and individuals to fill in empty plots with daffodils, a release stated.

Work is currently underway to create a driving map to guide visitors to some of the local golden fields.
