CYNTHIA VICTORIA SWAIN

Cynthia Victoria Swain, 59, of Gloucester, passed away on Oct. 15, 2011 at Walter Reed Convalescent Center.

Cynthia lived and traveled to many countries while married to Richard, during his time in the U.S. Army. She had one of the hardest jobs in the world and that was being an Army wife. Cynthia spent much of her adult life in the medical field, being a CNA and also a Mental Health Technician.

She was a collector of Hummel figurines and teapots. Cynthia was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 58, Gloucester. She will be missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Zella Mae Brummett, and father, Charles Brummett, and youngest sister, Ada Marie Simmons.

She is survived by her husband, Richard A Swain; son, Jeremy A. Swain of Warwick, R.I.; daughter, Crystal L. Swain of Gloucester; three grandchildren, Amanda M. Davis and Jacob C. Davis whom she was raising, and Tara L. Davis; sisters, Viola M. Ryan and husband David, Linda F. Huk and husband Jim, all of Pass Christian, Miss.; aunts, Patricia Charnick and husband Junnie of Saluda, Janette Juhl and husband Bill of Hampton.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Bethel Memorial Cemetery, Jamaica. The family received friends Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
