Cynthia Hurst Bradley died on Dec. 19, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Newport News, after a struggle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E. Slater Hurst and Carrie B. Poe, and one brother, E. Slater Hurst Jr.

Survivors include her three children, C. Douglas King, Sherry Grubb and E. Kristine Weeks; one sister, Connie H. Shelton; one brother, S. Wayne Hurst; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Interment will be private.
