Cybersecurity for small businesses topic of upcoming talk in Gloucester

Cybersecurity expert Heather Engel will speak in Gloucester at 4 p.m. Aug. 13 at Lulu Birds Kitchen, 6553 Main Street.

Engel is executive vice president of Sera-Brynn, a globally recognized cybersecurity firm based in Suffolk.

Co-hosted by the Gloucester Main Street Association, Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce and Consociate Media, Engel will cover how small businesses can protect themselves, what to do when breached (it’s a matter of when not if this will happen, she said), and ways a hacker can make their way in to any computer network.

The cost to attend the presentation is $10 for chamber and association members and $15 for non-members. Fees include the presentation, one drink from the bar (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and shared appetizers. Additional drinks and food will also be available for purchase.
