CY WELDON DAVIS

Cy Weldon Davis, born Jan. 22, 1997, in Texarkana, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015, in Gloucester County, Va.

He was the beloved son of Charles William (Bill) and Janet Elaine Sides Davis.

He was a senior at Gloucester High School. He was a gifted musician and a talented, published writer and poet. His desire was to teach high school English. He was a devoted Seattle Seahawks fan and coached his mother through many games.  

He suffered from severe depression. He fought a valiant fight, but succumbed on Sunday.    

He is survived by his mother, Janet Davis of Gloucester; his sister, Sarah Lane of Hope, Ark., and his brother, Cole Davis of Newport News, Va.

He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Charles Henry Davis (Hank). Also mourning his loss are his aunt, Sheila Sides Lauducci (John), of Omaha, Neb.; uncle, Danny Sides (Susan) of Morton, Wash.; uncle, George Sides (Linda) of Anchorage, Alaska, and uncle, Robert G. Davis of Doddridge, Ark.  

The family will receive friends at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, April 23, 2015, from 6-7 p.m. with funeral services starting at 7 o’clock. Steven Anderson, Janet’s pastor, will conduct Cy’s services.
