Curtis Virgil “Pluto” Lett Jr., 81, of Hayes, Va., passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at his home.

He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, and was the son of the late Curtis V. Lett and Jane Lett Lambdin. He was a retired carpenter. 

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittany Newcomb, and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria Ann Lett; his children, Angela Jenkins, Terrie Allen, Anita Newcomb, Billy Lett, Debbie Richards, Vicki Bradt, and Curt Lett; his brothers, Broad Lett, Everett Lett, Ivan Lett; his grandchildren, Tina, Greg, Bridget, Jeremy, Courtney, Jennifer, B.J., David, Lance, Jerry, Jay, Apryl, and Trevor; 16 grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. 

The family received friends at Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 2-3 p.m., with funeral services starting at 3 o’clock. Burial was in Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to either Juvenile Diabetic Association or to Donate Life.

 Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, Va., was in charge of arrangements.
