Cross country runners compete at W&M Invitational

Good times for GHS

Gloucester High School cross country runners competed in their first big meet of the season on Saturday, the 61st William and Mary Invitational, with a number of Dukes turning in good times.

Gloucester girls were led by Nicole Pinder (22:34), Mya Baker (22:49), Emily Shipe (25:19), Makala White (25:43), Cori Morgan (26:00), Jaeda Torres (26:17) and Lainie Caldwell (26:56). These runners competed across three different races and will look to continue to improve on solid times.

For the GHS boys, the top of the pack was Tanner Baker (17:48). He was followed by Conner O’Beirne (18:30), Jaxson Ellison (18:41), Justin Burgess (19:21), Austin Ezell (19:22), Hayden Smith (19:26), Mikey Toms (19:52), Alec Daniels (19:59), Josh Ipock (20:04) and Liam Skiles (22:06). An honorable mention is Colt Kirby in the who placed in the top two-mile group with a time of 14:59.
