Croquet tournament held in Redart draws 26

Matt Griffith of Kansas City won the championship Sunday in the Middle Peninsula Croquet Club’s Blue Crab Tournament, held at club grounds in Redart over the weekend.

Griffith topped Richard Schiller of Michigan in the title game. Also competing in the championship flight were MPCC player and match director Macey White and Rodney Lassiter of North Carolina.

Other winners included: 

First flight—Doug Nagel of MPCC won over club member Rick Darnell. They made the finals with wins over Tim Schick of Bald Head Island, N.C., and Jim Coling of MPCC. Second flight—Carter Richardson of MPCC, won over Steve Jackson of Kansas City; both advanced with wins over Val Terry of Michigan and John Priest of MPCC.

Third flight—Peter Schiller topped Eric Purdy in the finals. They advanced with wins over Linda and Bob Taber and Ben Guengerich.
