A Creative Open House will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Art Speaks Gallery at the Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews.

The public will be able to meet the school’s teachers and see examples of the kinds of things that are created in their classrooms.

A press release urged individuals to attend and “become inspired to find the artist in you.”

Art Speaks Juried Exhibition

The Bay School has issued a call for artists for the 2023 Art Speaks Juried Exhibition, to be held from April 29-May 29 in the Art Speaks Gallery at the Bay School on Main Street in Mathews.

Prizes total $5,000, including $1,500 for best in show. The deadline for entry is midnight on Wednesday, March 1.

Holly Koons, executive director at the Mary M. Torggler Fine Arts Center at Christopher Newport University, will serve as the show’s juror and judge.
