Crawford Franklin Walton, 87, of Saluda, passed away peacefully on Feb. 16, 2017.
He is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Whitman and Lillian Pierce, both of Saluda; his son, Michael Walton of Gloucester Point; grandson, Colin Walton of Saluda; granddaughter, Catelyn Walton of Mathews; and a treasured great-granddaughter, Daisy Walton.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Willie Mae Walton, and his sister, Jane Timberlake.
Crawford was a 21-year veteran of the United States Air Force, as well as a 20-year teacher at Richmond VoTech. He had a lifelong passion for gardening, hunting, and fishing. Daybreak would often catch him in the woods listening for game or walking his garden with a cup of coffee.
He touched many with his kindness and he will be dearly missed by all.
A graveside funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sunny Slope Cemetery, West Point. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.
