Crappie being caught in Beaverdam Reservoir

Crappie was the most common catch in the lake last week at Beaverdam Park, according to park ranger Michelle Hostinsky. She said several citation crappie were hooked measuring over 22 inches. 

While bass have been scarce, one local angler caught several with suspended crank bait in 12 to 14 feet of water. Bass have also been hitting dark worms in the grassy beds in the evening. Bream are scattered around the lake and there are bluegill and a few catfish. 

The lake was at 86 degrees last week with a full pool. The underwater grass is moderate to the east, Hostinsky said, and thick to the north. ...
