CRAIG JAMES RULIFFSON

Craig James Ruliffson, 49, of Hudgins, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2017, surrounded by his parents and sister, knowing he was loved.

Craig was so much like his father, both of whom loved the simple things. He loved the joy of hiking the Grand Canyon as a youngster in the fourth grade, with his class and his dad. He was always exploring and always very active. He was happiest when he was with family and friends. He’ll be missed greatly by so many.

Craig is survived by his parents, Jim and Sharon Ruliffson of Hudgins; his sister, Lisa Nelson of Gwynn’s Island and her fiancé Larry Stanley of Manassas; nephew, Charles (Russo); niece, Christy (Russo) and husband Jimi Williams; nieces, Katie Nelson, Kelly Nelson; aunts, uncles, fun-loving cousins, and his beloved dog “Harley.”

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Gloucester- Mathews Humane Society or the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad is recommended by the family.

A major “Thank You” is in order for Gloucester Riverside Hospital, Riverside Home Health Care, and Riverside Hospice, as follows:

-Doctors Kemp, Khreis, Long (and especially nurse Carla), and Gretes for their sincere caring and advice.

-A special thanks to Riverside paracentesis—to Mary Anne and her co-workers.

-A very special thanks to Home Health Care nurse Glenda for her caring support.

-For hospice, for the absolutely prompt and complete takeover of his care when it was time. Thank You, Lisa Kight and Christy.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, was responsible for arrangements and cremation.
