Crab festival returns Sept. 17

The 11th annual Irvington Crab Festival will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, under the big top on Irvington Town Commons next to the Steamboat Era Museum.

The crab festival is the museum’s largest fundraising event of the year. The $60 ticket includes crabs, barbecue, hot dogs and soft drinks. Crabs will be served starting at 5 p.m. Wine and beer will be available for purchase.

Ticket prices increase to $75 on Aug. 17. Admission for children 12 and under will remain at $20 and children under five are admitted free. Admissions may be purchased online at SteamboatEraMuseum.org, at the museum Thursday-Monday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 1-4 p.m. or by calling 804-438-6888 during museum hours.

This event sells out every year and admissions are not sold at the door.
