Covid cases begin to increase nationwide

After several weeks of declining cases, COVID-19 cases have increased across the U.S., now recording 40,100 cases per day over a seven-day average.
In Virginia, according to a press release from Three Rivers Health District, cases declined slightly during the past week, to 1,043 cases per day, while the Three Rivers Health District numbers remained stable, at around 13 cases per day. Hospitalizations in Virginia remained stable, as well, with 471 patients hospitalized with the virus over a seven-day average as of Monday.
All localities in the district were at low Covid community levels as of Monday.
Vaccinations
The Mathews and Gloucester health departments will both have Moderna and Pfizer vaccination clinics for ages 6 months and older in the coming week.
