Gloucester County’s assessor Derek Green has been promising supervisors and residents that the Jan. 1, 2015 reassessment will be accurate and based on a scientific approach ever since being hired in June 2012.
Last week was a sign that this next reassessment in Gloucester may be headed in that direction when members of Scott County, Minnesota’s assessment team traveled here to see Gloucester’s new appraisal software and modeling as a possible prototype for that county’s own reassessment efforts.
“I must admit, I am very proud of this as Vision has over 400 clients and they recommended us to this locality,” Green said.
Using the Vision software, he has developed various models that are unprecedented in how they can identify specific home models in various subdivisions in the county and come up with an accurate assessment of those homes without having to send numerous team members into the field.
