County maps available at MCVIC

Detailed maps of Mathews County are once again available at the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center, located in the old Sibley’s General Store at 329 Main Street, Mathews.

Thanks to a $3,000 grant funded by the Mathews Community Foundation this past spring, the large county map has been reprinted with accurate information for getting around in the county, according to a press release from MCVIC Executive Director Emily Allen.

The popular map includes updated landing information sourced from a well-researched guide that was put together by members of the Mathews Planning Commission and the staff of the Planning, Zoning and Wetlands Department, she said. The cost is $3.

In addition, the latest Public Water Access Guide is available for download at visitmathews.com/boating-boat-tours or on the county website, mathewscountyva.gov. The guide contains information about landing and launch facilities, channel depths, rivers and tributaries, and parking.
