County close to announcing new administrator

Gloucester’s new permanent county administrator will likely be named sometime within the next few weeks, according to Ashley Chriscoe, chair of the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors. A special meeting is expected to be called by the board prior to the Christmas holiday to make a formal announcement.

“We are closing in on an announcement for the new (county) administrator,” Chriscoe said Tuesday. However, the candidate and the county still need to finalize some of the agreements on the contract before the board of supervisors will formally announce the new administrator.

During Tuesday night’s board of supervisors meeting in the colonial courthouse, Chriscoe asked his fellow board members to provide him with several dates between now and Dec. 18 that they would be available for a special called meeting to finalize everything before the end of the year.
