‘Country doctor’ hangs out shingle at Hayes medical center

"Womb to the tomb" is how Eric B. Stone, M.D., describes his new family medical practice at Riverside Hayes Medical Center, Hayes.

Stone, who now considers himself "a country doctor," started at the center in mid-April. He works there full-time.

He offers patients of all ages a wide range of health care services. He conducts wellness checks and physicals, and examines many types of medical conditions at his office. In some cases, he may make referrals to specialists, but keeps on top of those patients’ overall health care.

Stone is retired from the U.S. Air Force, serving for 25 years with his highest rank colonel. He completed his military career by serving three years as commander of the hospital at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton.

Previously, he had served at many duty stations including Scott AFB in Illinois, Misawa Air Base in Japan and Aviano Air Base in Italy. He also was a flight surgeon.
