Two professionals have joined the staff of Steider & Associates, PLLC, a coaching/counseling/psychotherapy practice in Gloucester.

Dr. Elizabeth M. Silvernale has joined Steider as director of substance abuse services, while Dr. Eva L. Abel is a licensed psychologist.

Silvernale, a California native who has worked in the health-care industry for over 20 years, said she offers group and individual counseling for substance abuse issues, including drug and alcohol abuse. Also, she offers counseling for patients with eating disorders as well as has experience in relapse prevention and dialectical behavioral therapy.

Previously, she was clinic director for CRC Health Care in California, coordinating substance abuse and eating disorder programs.
Silvernale earned a Ph.D. from International University in St. Kitts and a master’s and a bachelor’s degree from United States International University in San Diego, Calif.
