Corner Cupboard celebrates three decades in business

Corner Cupboard Furniture Company, Inc., located on Route 33 at Shacklefords, is celebrating its 30th year in business.

Bryant Haynes of King and Queen County, who owns the business with his wife Sandy, said they plan to offer some specials later this year in recognition of the store’s 30 years in business and the recent opening of a large outdoor showroom.

Opening the outdoor display area has freed up space inside the store to display additional products, said Danielle Allen, a sales associate. More Adirondack furniture is now carried, she said, as is additional wicker furniture.

Much of the furniture is built by Amish craftsmen in Pennsylvania, Haynes said, and many of the outdoor furniture pieces are made of recycled plastic bottles.
Always noted for its furniture selection, Haynes said he decided a number of years ago to diversify the business to include home décor, gourmet foods such as crab salsa, yard flags, scented candles and an assortment of gifts.
