CORA MAE AITON

Cora Mae Aiton, 70, of Gloucester Point, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

Cora was retired from the Naval Weapons Station Ordnance Department, and a member of Providence Baptist Church.

She loved raising her grandchildren and they were the most important part of her life. Cora also enjoyed working in her flower gardens, music and was an avid NASCAR fan. Cora was easy-going and always had a positive outlook. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Powell and Helen Carmine; sisters, Kathleen Purcell and Amy Carmine; and brothers, Grayson, Earl, Bernice, Boyd and Francis Carmine.

She is survived by her children, Timothy Perkins and wife Deborah, Tony Perkins, Todd Perkins and wife Karen, Cindy Belvin; sisters, Alice Wilburn, Hilda Carmine; brothers, Odell Carmine, Wellington Carmine and wife Shirley, Charles Carmine, Floyd Carmine; 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Inurnment will be private.
