CORA DIANNE JENKINS

Cora Dianne Jenkins, 61, of Hayes, died at her home Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.

Dianne was a person of many talents, and had exceptional people skills. She was best known and loved for her ready smile, humor and extraordinary generous personality. She was friend to all, stranger to none, and inspired countless lives with her determination and devotion to family and friends. Dianne was an accomplished cook and known for her delicious potato salad and banana cake. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses and hummingbirds. Dianne is and will be desperately missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Ann West and father, Edgar R. West.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jerry D. Jenkins Sr.; her son, Jerry D. Jenkins Jr.; a special daughter-in-law, Brenda Jenkins; special friend, Linda West; sister-in-law, Marsha Lynn Jenkins and husband, Ricky; brother-in-law, Paul Jenkins; aunts, Katherine “Cin” Smith, Dorothy Mae Kellum and husband Kenny Man and Mary Eunice Perzan; niece, Marsha Jenkins; nephew, Ricky Jenkins Jr.; cousin, Freida Patterson, and many friends.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Bill West was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends Monday, Dec. 8 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
