Cookies everywhere

Seventy-nine authors and literary groups participated last Thursday in the Gazette- Journal’s Book Fair, “A Day With Words,” and at least twice that many attended this first time event. Guests, from 1-4 p.m., had the opportunity to talk to the authors, view their works, and purchase books they wanted to read at home.

Each participant was served lunch before the doors were opened the public which included your choice of sandwiches and chips, plus lemonade or cold water. But it was the generous trays of desserts served by the young boys and girls, family members of the newspaper’s staff, who brought about the oohs and ahs. They offered these trays with wonderful choices throughout the visitors’ arrival and departure.

Once again the Gazette Journal’s well-known cooks (staff and friends) stepped forward, baking cookies and other treats well ahead of time.
