Virginia Tidewater Trailrunners will hold a holiday “Cookie Connection 5K” run at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Mathews County Visitor Information Center on Main Street.

The registration fee is $25, a release said. All runners will receive a custom holiday ornament and baked treats, with awards given to fastest overall runner and to winners in other categories.

To reduce the direct contact between participants and volunteers, there is pre-registration only (no race day signup available), the release said. More information about the race and safety measures can be found on the event webpage: vttrunners.com/cookie.

In addition, VTTR is planning New Year’s and Valentine-themed events for the early part of 2021, the release said.
