Cooke scores two TDs as Dukes blank Hurricanes, 19-0

The Gloucester High School varsity football team started its shortened spring season at home on Friday with a shutout victory over the Heritage Hurricanes, 19-0.

The first score of the game came was by senior Jordan Mumford on a quarterback keeper.

Senior running back Malakyi Cooke had an impressive game for the Dukes averaging about 10 yards per carry. Cooke carried the ball 16 times for 165 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dukes will look to keep the momentum going this week when they travel to Menchville on Friday.
