Cook Out restaurant appears headed for Gloucester

Cook Out, a North Carolina-based restaurant chain, has filed a site plan with Gloucester County to build a store off Route 17 south of the village.

Cook Out’s site plan calls for a 1,589-square-foot drive-through restaurant in the southern portion of the parking lot where KFC restaurant is located along Beehive Drive, near the entrance to Shops of Gloucester.

A spokesperson for the Thomasville, N.C.-based company said corporate policy does not allow comments about the company’s upcoming restaurants and they comment only once the restaurants are ready to open.

Gloucester Building Official Paul Koll said he did not have any information about when the Cook Out restaurant would open here.

The site plans shows 23 parking spaces, including one designated as a handicapped space. The building can have maximum height of 45’ or three stories.
