Contestants sought for Miss VA Debutante Pageant

The 2011 Miss VA Debutante Pageant will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Kingsmill Marriott in Williamsburg. It will be in the style of a debutante ball.

The modern-day event will celebrate and acknowledge a young lady taking her place in society, said a press release, but there will be a twist. Debutantes are not required to wear traditional white ballroom gowns, but will showcase their individual style by choosing their own style and color gown.

"I want girls to celebrate their inner beauty," event director Ralphann Forrest said.

Approximately 25 delegates ages 6 to 18 are sought from across Virginia.
The evening will feature an Avon Christmas Open House, gift ideas from other vendors, entertainment, refreshments and giveaways. Debutantes will also participate in several community events, including a Secret Santa Fundraiser to provide special gifts for residents in area convalescent homes.
