Constitution essay contest, quiz to be held next month in Mathews

Hundreds of dollars in prizes will be available to Mathews County students next month. The Scholarship Committee of the Mathews County Republican Committee, in conjunction with the Constitution Leadership Initiative, a non-partisan organization devoted to promoting a better understanding of the U.S. Constitution among the American people, is sponsoring two contests in September.

First, original compositions expressed in the form of traditional writings (essays, poems, etc.) or in video or audio presentations (skits, songs, etc.) may be submitted. All entries must be received prior to Constitution Day, Sept. 17, and may be e-mailed to ILoveLibertyContest2013@gmail.com, mailed to I Love Liberty Contest 2013, c/o M. Sherrill, P.O. Box 358, Grimstead, Va. 23064 or dropped off at Haskins Collision Shop in Port Haywood, or Corprint in Hudgins.
