Consignment shop plans grand opening Saturday

Pure Paisley Consignment Shoppe will hold a grand opening celebration from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. The store is located on Route 17 just north of Tidewater Motel, Hayes.

Owner Ellen Williams said the shop, which emphasizes fine used furnishings and home décor, stocks many nautical theme items, which have sold well since the store opened on July 1. She will use the nautical theme for Saturday’s gala, with a group of live "mermaids" scheduled to attend along with at least one pirate, Cap’n Pern from Blackbeard’s Crew, a re-enactment group.

Live entertainment will be provided by guitarist Rich Vaughn Abbott and keyboardist Kerri Bridges, Williams said, and complimentary food and drinks will be served. There will be drawings for door prizes.
