Conditions improving for Beaverdam fishing

Fishermen are reporting that catches are improving at Beaverdam Park Reservoir, thanks to the much-needed rain and cooler temperatures, according to Park Ranger Elizabeth Keefer.

One angler reported catching eight largemouth bass, some weighing four to five pounds, using live minnows and artificial bait. Another caught several white perch and a bullhead catfish using worms and yellow plastic grubs from his boat. Black crappie and bass were caught from a boat, using artificial bait.

The latest water temperature reading was 64 degrees.

Beaverdam Park is open daily from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through Nov. 5. The park rents watercraft, sells bait and concessions.
