Middle Peninsula residents are invited to help shape the future of regional transportation by participating in the 2026 MidPenRideShare Commuter Survey. The brief 25-question online survey is open and will remain available through April 30. Participants who complete the survey may opt to be entered into a drawing for a $250 VISA gift card. Earlier data gathering efforts revealed the seriousness of the situation, when more than 90 percent of surveyed commuters reported driving alone to work, and over one-third said they were dissatisfied with their current commuting arrangements, a release said. The region continues to have one of the highest out-commute rates in Virginia, with approximately 73-77 percent of the workforce traveling outside the Middle Peninsula for employment each day, a release stated.
