Community Thanksgiving meals will be held next Thursday in Gloucester and Mathews counties, with another Thanksgiving meal planned for this Sunday. The public is invited to each, free of charge.
This Sunday
The Gwynn’s Island Church of the Nazarene, Hudgins, will hold its Thanksgiving meal following Sunday’s worship service, which begins at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
On Thanksgiving Day
Abingdon Episcopal Church, Gloucester, will have its annual community Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28. All are welcome. There is no charge and no reservations are needed to take part in the Thanksgiving Day luncheon. Babysitting will be available for little ones while parents enjoy their meal.
Kingston Episcopal Parish, Mathews, will hold its community Thanksgiving dinner, serving meals from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., following the church’s 10:30 a.m. service at the parish house on Main Street.
The members of Living Waters Church in Dutton will be delivering meals this year to those in need in Mathews, Gloucester and Middlesex counties between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Those who would like to have meals delivered are asked to contact Living Waters as soon as possible to give church members enough lead time to prepare the turkeys; by Monday if at all possible.
