The former Mathews Safety Net group, which is in the process of reorganizing, will meet at 9 a.m. next Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Mathews Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad building. The group is looking to increase participation and is inviting any nonprofit, community-based and faith-based organizations wishing to assist those in need in Mathews County to attend.

Christi Lewis, Director of Gloucester Community Education, will be the speaker and will talk about the importance of networking community resources to identify needs, promote agency services, encourage collaboration and advocate for the needs of the community.
