Clothes closet

Newington Baptist Church, Gloucester, has the only open clothes closet in Gloucester County, according to Pastor Mike Gray. The clothes closet is free and is open the first Wednesday of every month, and the third and fourth Saturdays of each month, from 10 a.m. until noon. Gray said that if the program had more volunteers then it could be open more hours. On Tuesday morning Carol May and Robin Frost, from left, processed the recent men’s, women’s and children’s clothes donations. The clothes closet will be open next on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Ready for delivery

Each month, Gloucester’s Newington Baptist Church packs up food donated to the Bread for Life food pantry. Sandra Crone (pictured) and volunteers pack the USDA food so that it is ready for delivery. “I couldn’t do it without all the help I have,” said Crone.
