Community meeting Tuesday on transgender inclusion

Equality Virginia will hold a community meeting regarding transgender inclusion on Tuesday in the Gloucester Library on Main Street. Questions may be submitted to a panel of professionals from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7.

The meeting will include a panel discussion and submitted questions will be answered as time allows. The meeting is an opportunity for the public to hear from professionals regarding the importance of transgender inclusion. According to its website, Equality Virginia is “the leading statewide, non-partisan advocacy, outreach and education organization seeking equality for LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] Virginians.”

A female Gloucester High School student who self identifies as a male has requested she be able to use the men’s facilities at GHS. The Gloucester County School Board will discuss the use of restroom and locker room facilities in its schools during its meeting the following Tuesday, Dec. 9. ...
