Community Emergency Response Team class offered in February

Gloucester’s Emergency Management Department is planning for the new year starting with a new members’ class for the CERT program in February.

The CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) program trains volunteers in the community how to help their family and neighbors when disaster strikes close to home.

CERT volunteers are called into action when first responders are stretched thin during natural and man-made disasters. Training prepares these volunteers to handle such situations.

The class is held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 3, 10 and 17 and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 19. For more information, or to sign up, visit www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4aaaa92ba0facf8-cert.
