Community education’s role explained in forum Friday

Gloucester’s Community Education coordinators rely upon one another—but even more so they rely on the active involvement of county residents—in order to present a successful program to the public.

Christi Lewis, head of the Gloucester County Department of Community Education, accompanied by other community education coordinators, talked about the role of her department during a Middle Peninsula League of Voters forum Friday afternoon at First Presbyterian Church, Main Street.

Lewis said she has a great team working with her, and used the theme of a ship’s crew throughout the presentation, with herself as the captain, and the entire crew working together with the goal of building a better community. "Every part of what we do involves every one of us," Lewis said.
