Commonwealth Motorsports opens at Hayes

Commonwealth Motorsports opened for business recently on Route 17, Hayes, in the building that once housed Yachters Den.

Randy Barbee of Gloucester owns the business with his father, H. Randolph Barbee Jr. of Zanoni. Their interest in antique cars was the genesis of their present business, which includes sales of antique cars.

Commonwealth Motorsports is a dealer for Polaris off-road vehicles and Big Tex trailers. Polaris, based in Minnesota, offers a wide range of off-road vehicles including all-terrain vehicles, Randy said, with sport models for single riders and others for two or more passengers.

Big Tex, based in Texas, provides a large selection of open trailers, some larger ones designed for heavy hauling. Service is offered for off-road vehicles and trailers, Randy said, and he honors warranty work for vehicles purchased elsewhere. Also, they sell parts, accessories and apparel.
