Commission approves RPA buffer modification

The Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation & Erosion Commission approved one application for a buffer modification following a public hearing April 9 in the colonial courthouse.

Applicant Betty J. Cumers of Hayes was given the go-ahead for a buffer modification to the 100-foot Resource Protection Area, said Linda Walthall, permit technician in the Environmental Programs Department of the Gloucester Codes Compliance office. Walthall said the commission unanimously supported the requested changes to allow for a hot tub/deck addition, stone patio and asphalt driveway addition.

In granting approval, the commission set these conditions: four planting units to be added and rain barrels or similar measures with drawings submitted to staff depicting measures for approval. ...
