The Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation & Erosion Commission approved one shoreline improvement application and denied another during a meeting Oct. 9 in the colonial courthouse.
By a 7-0 vote, the commission approved the application of Chris Chapman. The applicant was granted a buffer modification to the 100-foot Resource Protection Area.
A staff report said that the buffer modification was sought due to setback limits and available septic drain field limits. The project is situated along the Ware River at 5560 Roanes Wharf Landing.
Linda Walthall, permit technician in the Environmental Programs Division of the Gloucester Codes Compliance Office, said that project was unanimously approved with the eight proposed planting units and a rock/gravel drain 12 inches wide by 12 inches deep running the drip-line along the structure in lieu of gutters.
