Commission approves one buffer modification

The Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation & Erosion Commission approved one buffer modification and denied another during a meeting on May 8 in the colonial courthouse.

Linda Walthall, permit technician in the Environmental Department of the Gloucester Codes Compliance Office, said the commission approved buffer modification to the 100-foot Resource Protection Area as sought by applicant Robert Livingston.

The applicant can now proceed with plans to construct storage and shop areas above an existing 20’x36’ garage, Walthall said.

In granting the buffer modification, Walthall said in a staff report, the commission specified plantings for the project site, removal of debris and a boat out of the RPA, and the relocation of a shed out of the RPA after construction. That project is located at 11999 Roane Avenue.
