Commission approves buffer modification

The Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation & Erosion Commission approved one buffer modification during a meeting Jan. 13 in the colonial courthouse.

Linda Walthall, administrative coordinator for Gloucester Environmental Programs, said the commission conditionally approved the application of Cheryl Early for encroachment into the Resource Protection Area for a home-site on a vacant pre-bay lot on Bonniville Road. The waterbody is the York River.

The commission approved the application by a 6-1 vote, with member Norman Sibley voting against.

Walthall said Jan. 14 that the commission set these conditions for the application:

—Five planting units to be depicted on a landscape plan showing location, and types of plantings, to be agreed upon by staff and applicants;
