Coming to Gloucester

When my husband, Charlie, retired from the U.S. Army in 1986 from Ft. Drum, N.Y. (snow country, east of Lake Ontario and not far from Canada), we decided to move back to Virginia.

We had been stationed in Virginia many times, having owned two houses in Denbigh. But we wanted country life in our retirement.

Both of us had grown up in a small town in Upstate New York, 200 miles north of New York City, so we decided on Gloucester. Unfortunately, Charlie passed away seven years ago and I have continued to enjoy my life here in Gloucester with my little dachshund, Diddy. This was our 25th move in military life and I consider Gloucester MY HOME finally!
