Comic Stop to hold grand opening Saturday

Comic Stop, a new business at York River Crossing Shopping Center, Hayes, will hold its grand opening from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday.

To celebrate the occasion, owner James Longworth of Gloucester, said he will serve refreshments, including "Super Hero" cookies made with cookie cutters he received as a Christmas present and served with a Spiderman spatula, and there will be giveaways and prizes. The shop is located on York Crossing Drive, adjacent to Curves and across from the Department of Motor Vehicles office.

Longworth said he will sell an assortment of new comic books and also carries a small selection of graphic novels.

Besides stocking comics from the major publishers D.C. and Marvel, Longworth will also have some from a few smaller comic book publishers. In addition to his in-store inventory, Longworth will order all types of comics.
