The Susan Constant Committee of the National Society, Colonial Dames of America in Virginia, met on May 5 at the Gwynn’s Island Community League Civic Center. Following the business meeting, Michael Rhodes, past president of the Richard Henry Lee Chapter Sons of the American Revolution, spoke on the Battle of Cricket Hill and the ousting of Lord Dunmore from the colony of Virginia. Local Dames Mary Ann Gilman, Judy Jay and Reed Lawson organized the event.
