COLLEEN MILLER MOYLAN

Colleen Miller Moylan of Gloucester, passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 26, 2017.

Colleen was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to George and Marie Miller on July 22, 1957. She went to Lansdowne High School and graduated in 1975; then she went to the University of Maryland Baltimore County, graduating in 1979.

Colleen was a member of Providence Baptist Church. It was the simple things around her in life that she never took for granted, always being thankful for the life she lived. Colleen was absolutely devoted to her husband and daughter. She was a mother who always involved herself in every detail of her daughter’s life and supported and loved her husband unconditionally. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that awaited her after her passing. She lived life fully, passionately and courageously. She will always be with us in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie Miller; brother, George Scott Miller III, and father-in-law, Leo J. Moylan.

Colleen is survived by her husband, Dr. Brian Moylan; daughter, Kelly Moylan; sister, Barbara Kindred (Robert); niece, Lisa Hresko (Michael); great-nieces, Jessica and Rebecca Manning; mother-in-law, Elizabeth E. Moylan; brother-in-law, Dr. Bruce E. Moylan (Denise), and nephews, Aaron and Samuel Moylan. 

Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Chris McMillan was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Providence Baptist Church, 3501 Providence Road, Hayes. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family greeted friends at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point, on Friday, July 28, 2017, from 7-8:30 p.m.

The family desires for contributions be given to The Riverside Foundation, 608 Denbigh Boulevard, Suite 700, Newport News, Virginia 23608 in memory of Colleen Moylan.
